Ginger molasses oatmeal cookies recipe
Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon sodium bicarbonate
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
  • 1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, at 70 degrees
  • 1 cup sugar, plus much more for moving
  • 1/3 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
Directions

Preheat the oven to 375 levels F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Whisk the flour, ginger root. cinnamon, sodium bicarbonate, cloves and salt together inside a medium bowl. Put aside.

Beat the butter and sugar together inside a large bowl by having an electric mixer on medium-high-speed until well combined, about 3 minutes. Add some molasses and egg and beat until lighter colored, about 3 minutes. Add some flour mixture and blend on low until well blended.

Utilizing a tablespoon, make up the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place each ball 2 " apart around the prepared baking sheets. Bake until golden and crackled, 12 to fifteen minutes the cookies it's still just a little soft. Baking these in 3 batches one sheet at any given time will get the nice, crackly top. The 2nd sheet of cookies can remain around the counter until prepared to bake. Make up the remaining dough. roll the balls in sugar and put around the now cooled first baking sheet. Permit the cookies to awesome for five minutes around the baking sheet, after which remove to some rack to awesome completely.
