  • 250g plain flour
  • 100g custard powder
  • 2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda

    Method

    Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line a couple of baking trays with baking parchment. Melt the butter, condensed milk and syrup inside a large saucepan.

    Very roughly crush the cornflakes inside a bowl together with your hands, then stir within the oatmeal, flour, custard powder and bicarb, and blend very well.

    Once all things in the pan has melted, remove it heat and stir within the dry ingredients. Roughly scoop heaped tablespoonfuls from the mixture to the baking sheets. Crumble on the couple of more cornflakes, then squash to flatten a little together with your hands. Bake for 12-15 mins until golden. Awesome on the wire rack.
