I'd an issue on my small facebook page about homemade hands sanitizer with witch hazel. I decided to share my personal favorite recipe with everybody. Just publish idea, have them coming :)
Between your horses, dogs and youngsters, I am no stranger to germs. While I have never been a neat freak there's certain occasions when clean is essential. Store-bought sanitizers have a tendency to leave my hands dry and smell of cheap air-freshener, so I am happy to possess a DIY option!
After trying a couple of different recipes, I finally settled about this one from Crunchy Gloria . The initial recipe which fits well, but I love to add witch hazel and lower the rubbing alcohol. However, there is a catch. Around I really like alcohol free witch hazel in my skin (and my horse), it simply will not work with this recipe. To be able to correctly sanitize we have to have a high alcohol content otherwise we'll you need to be distributing the germs around. Using Witch Hazel with 14% alcohol enables us to include the healing benefits and have clean hands (more information on Witch Hazel here ). Tea Tree (Melaleuca) Oil may also be added for natural germ protection. These items is useful during show season when looking for water and soap is not a choice. Ideal for camping too!
Homemade Hands Sanitizer (with Witch Hazel)
Combine all of the ingredients inside a blender (or mixer) and blend for 1 minute, then pour into containers. I personally use these cute containers , but anything similar works. Store inside a awesome, dark place and it'll keep for approximately 6 several weeks or longer. As with all sanitizers, repel of achieve of kids and pets.
This recipe calculates to around $3.50 a load. Less when you purchase in large quantities. For those who have extra ingredients try my other DIY recipes.
