I must admit, I had been skeptical about using packaged taco seasoning mix on costly short ribs. I frequently discover that the packaged mix includes a, well, packaged flavor. But, the lengthy cooking and also the consomme mellowed it which were outstanding! Used to do coat rapid ribs inside a little flour before browning, however. That's just my own preference. Also, my slow cooker is really a model that cooks in a lower (proper) temperature and 6-8 hrs on low wouldn't obtain the ribs tender enough. I really cooked it on high for six hrs. In case your crockpot cooks in a greater temp i then recommend following a directions listed. I believe I'd then add other veggies towards the crock though. The small little bit of eco-friendly bell pepper appeared odd because it virtually is non-existent once the ribs are carried out. Some chopped onion might be good.
