I've been causeing this to be for a long time, however with a small variation. Rather of evaporated milk, I simply use regular milk, and that i add raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves (all to taste). I lately made much more of this than I really wanted one morning (had a strange quantity of leftover grain), and so i place the partner during the fridge, and subsequently morning it had been better! I needed to give a little milk since the grain and raisins had drenched up a lot overnight, however the flavors had melded very nicely overnight!
This recipe is simple, and a terrific way to use excess grain (as I am always making an excessive amount of after i prepare up a curry). My hubby does not enjoy it, but he hates 1 / 2 of all known sweet things, so nuts to him. I Really Like it. Much like grain pudding, but with no wait!
This can be a very good recipe. It appears to become a variation of the breakfast recipe that my mother will make me after i was more youthful. Rather of evaporated milk she'd use regular milk and also the dish wouldn't be heated. This gave it kind of a cereal substitute feel and TBH I love it lot better. As the second variation, use my modifications and rather of utilizing grain use
half-dollar sized bits of bread. Great for whenever you just did not have sufficient remaining grain to create this :)
