Pesara Garelu / Whole Moong Vada Recipe
Hari Chandana P Prep Time. 5 mins Prepare time. 20 mins Serves. three to four Indian Snack

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup Whole Mung Beans / Pesalu
  • 7 Eco-friendly Chillies
  • two to three inch piece Ginger root
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Method:
  • Wash and soak the entire moong dal in large amount of water for six hrs.
  • Drain water. Grind the drenched beans, eco-friendly chillies, salt and ginger root right into a little coarse or smooth paste. Use hardly any water as needed.
  • Heat oil inside a pan for deep frying.
  • Wet both hands and have a lemon sized ball of batter and flatten it in your palm or on the plastic sheet. Create a small hole in the center of the vada in order that it cooks evenly throughout.
  • Gradually drop it in to the herbal. Fry it on sides on medium flame til golden brown color.
  • Take them off from oil and serve hot with any chutney.

Tasty and healthy. i really like these vadas. My granny also accustomed to make these but away from the typical vada shape, much like small balls and along with some sugar put into the batter.
