The bitterness is complimented by roasted/acrid dark malts. Slightly smokey with burnt toast flavor together with bitter chocolates, stale coffee and oatmeal. Thankfully the Belgian yeast provides some necessary sweetness with hints of grape, fig along with other dark berries. Still, it°s insufficient to beat the overwhelming roast and something dimensional bitterness.

Bottle inside my parents haus, from Callans Dundslk, still light at 2240 ! 26/06/15. Very dark mahogany brown with an above average tan covering. Nose is light charr, dark fruit, faint spice, pine, raisens, earthy. Taste comprises pine needle, dark berry fruit, earthy hop, light cacao nibs, toffee fudge, trace of spice, touch of yeast. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with light hop bitterness. Decent enough XDA.

Pour on tap at Black Bottle, dark brown black pour with off white-colored mind, aroma introduced notes of pine, anise, dark fruit, cacao powder into a little bit of roasted malt, some ash having a hint of orange fruit. Taste was a mixture of orange, pine, and herbal hops into roast, anise, chocolates and occasional notes, finishing bitter. Pretty decent.

Transfer from BA review on 8-24-13- Put from bottle right into a pint glass Appearance °The beer flows an in-depth-deep brown nearly dark colored having a huge billowy brown colored mind. Using these flavors, there's a lighter Belgian yeast and spice flavor of clove and coriander which grow a little more powerful because the flavor advances more toward the center of the flavour. A little bit of blueberry and a few pine join the flavour more toward the center, using the pine growing more powerful because the flavor advances. Toward the finish the chocolate increases a little and it is became a member of with a rather more powerful coffee taste plus some herbal and earthy hop that within the finish produce a nice mixture of roast and bitter departing a really satisfying roasted, kinda sweet, but nicely bittered taste around the tongue. Mouthfeel- Your body from the beer is around the creamier affiliate with a carbonation level that's around the slightly lower side. The creamier body minimizing carbonation combo are very nice for that roasted malt and chocolate flavors from the brew too the mixture of hop flavors which are contained in the beer. Overall ° Whilst not a hop powerhouse, it features a wonderful roasted flavor in addition to enough hop to help keep it an IPA all while getting a great sweetness to balance everything out.
