7 Layer Finger Jello

I did previously make 7 Layer Finger Jello a great deal, until my pal JustJenn switched me onto Damaged Glass Jello. Damaged Glass Jello takes less hands-promptly in the kitchen area. You have to be around more for 7 Layer Jello (each layer must relax for fifteen minutes). However, both of them are tasty and try to an audience pleaser!

Please make certain you've an amount refrigerator. )

With the wide range of flavors now, you may make this layered Jello in most different colors! My original recipe known as for lemon, orange, lime, strawberry simply because they did not have blue and crimson during the big hair days. (Please be aware - you simply need 3 ounces or perhaps a small box of Jello per layer. I am demonstrating 6 ounce boxes because that is what I've. I made use of my scale to determine out half a box, or 3 ounces and saved the remainder.)

You have to make 4 layers of Jello. It's completely simple. Small box of Jello (3 ounces), and one-half envelope of Knox gelatin. Dissolve in 1 cup boiling water, awesome to warm temp after which pour in to the 9 x 13 Pyrex pan. I result in the next flavor as the milk layer is chilling - that enables the mix to awesome for fifteen minutes.

Note: Some recipe books say you need to "grease" the pan with mayonnaise or Pam spray. This recipe does not demand might It's my job to don't grease my pans when creating Jello.

The Milk layer is condensed milk, water and a few gelatin. You have to blossom the gelatin by calculating out 1/2 cup of COLD water right into a normal size bowl. Then sprinkle 2 envelopes of gelatin on the top. Allow it to take 2-3 minutes before the gelatin blooms. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water to completely dissolve the gelatin. Then that mixture will get put into the sweetened condensed milk + boiling water mixture.

You are able to alter the colours in most various ways - Red Eco-friendly for Christmas, Blue Yellow for UCLA Football game! I designed a Valentine's one here. Have some fun!!

Recipe:
7-Layer Finger Jello
(adapted in the Arlington Grade School PTA cook book, 1979)
Printable recipe here

4 small packages (3 oz) Jello in numerous colors (for example lemon, orange, lime, strawberry)
(If you purchase the bigger 6 oz packages, just measure out half the mix)

4 envelopes of unflavored gelatin (each Knox envelope is 1/4 ounces)

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk)

You'll have 4 layers of Jello and three layers of milk. Start and finish with Jello.

Jello Layer:
Mix one 3-ounce package of Jello with 1/2 package of Knox. (1 package of Knox is roughly 2 1/4 t so half a bundle is 1 1/8 t).
Add 1 cup boiling water and stir to dissolve.
Awesome to 70 degrees and pour into 9 x 13 pan.
Refrigerate fifteen minutes until solid enough for next layer.

Milk Layer:
Inside a large bowl, mix 1 can sweetened condensed milk with 1 cup boiling water.
In a tiny bowl, place1/2 cup cold water. Sprinkle 2 packages of Knox unflavored gelatin around the water. Let it take a couple-3 minutes for gelatin to blossom. Add 1/2 cup boiling water to dissolve the gelatin.
Combine the dissolved gelatin using the milk mixture.
This can yield a bit more than 3 glasses of milk mixture. Each layer can get about 1 cup of milk.
Awesome to 70 degrees and pour within the Jello mixture. Refrigerate fifteen minutes until solid enough for next layer.

Repeat Jello and Milk layers (beginning and ending with Jello)
Refrigerate until Jello is fully set and reduce blocks or shapes.
