Dj Food - A Occur
DJ Meals are a collaborative project between Coldcut/Ninja Tune duo Matt Black and Jonathan More, and 2nd-half PC (born Patrick Carpenter) and Strictly (Kevin Foakes). Even though the moniker initially referred simply to Black and More's several-volumed number of stripped-lower breaks records created for deck use (i.e. "food" for DJs), club booking calls for the assumedly proper-named DJ Food determined the happy couple make a continuing project from it. Adding PC and Strictly to spice some misconception (and differentiate DJ Food from Coldcut once they performed exactly the same bill), the quartet released a number of 12" singles in a variety of combinations beginning in 1994 (including "Freedom"/"Awareness"), using their proper debut full-length, A Occur, appearing the year after.
