Secret Recipe is a that we're all very familiar. I recall in my non-vegan days, I required particular pleasure in gorging on their own many types of cakes. Although generally people know Secret Recipe, what minus the coupon-clipping is the fact that in Malaysia they are recognized for something entirely different. Additionally to selling cakes, Secret Recipe in addition have a franchise of 13 vegetarian restaurants, which pass the name 'Beyond Veggie'. From things i was told, the couple who owns Secret Recipe are generally Buddhist vegetarians, and for that reason opened up these restaurants to advertise vegetarianism. Today, I'll featuring their Ipoh branch. Their areas are available at KSL City Mall (JB), AEON Mall (Kulaijaya), Sunway Pyramid, 1 Utama, The Bend Shopping Center, Oasis Square (Ara Damansara), Sunway Giza, Taipan USJ 10, Mid Valley Megamal, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Publika and Tropicana City Mall .

One factor which might alarm you when looking upon recption menus may be the prices. The costs are virtually Singapore standard, that was an immediate switch off for me personally. This Original Fruit Tea is a good example of the inflated prices that may expect. Getting stated my piece concerning the prices, I have to admit this drink was pretty scrumptious. It had been an ideal mixture of sweet and sour fruity flavours, having a smooth texture. This 'tea' includes three simple ingredients - Pineapple, apple and lemon. Yes the flavour is actually good, but thinking about this tea includes only three ingredeints (non-organic) it did leave me confused why it had this type of high cost tag.

We began our meal served by a snack item known as Veggie Roll. There have been as many as six well crafted bits of vegetables wrap, and 2 additional dipping sauces. The wraps are fresh and crunchy, I particularly enjoyed the shredded crimson cabbage and carrots. The 2 dipping sauces were quite mild overall, the gray coloured mushroom based sauce being the best. No complaints on the caliber of these wraps, but If only the cost can be somewhat less expensive.

After ordering the Assam Laksa. I had been quite stunned whenever a gigantic bowl showed up to the table. The portion size with this laksa is actually too big - For me. I can not help but think serving sizes such as this may lead to numerous food wastage. Overall it was not even close to the very best assam laksa I have had. The gravy was too watery and lacked the depth in flavour that the excellent laksa must have. I would suggest eating the assam laksa at Luk Yea Yan (Penang) - Far better quality, and something third the cost.

Cost: RM15.90. 6/10

Conclusion - The apparent disadvantage to this restaurant may be the cost. I merely did not discover the service, ambiance or food quality worth the costs which are listed. Malaysia is really a country where one can bypass and enjoyed excellent food for little money - Therefore it begs the issue, why would I am going to Beyond Veggie and pay these prices? If you're visiting though, the initial tea and veggie roll were pretty decent.

Hi Luke, I believe you've underrated this. I've just attempted out a branch in KL area. The cost is high however i think is alright for this sort of establishment. Actually, basically would become SG dollar, it's about exactly the same range we are able to enter Singapore. The pasta which i purchased what food was in least scrumptious and enormous in portion. And something more factor is they have some of branches in large departmental stores, which turns out to be very convenient. )

When I already pointed out within my evaluate the costs are virtually Singapore standard' - And So I think we're making exactly the same point. We simply issue of disagreement is whether or not your meals are worth that cost or otherwise. For me, the meals didn't strike me as anything special, and never well worth the cost. Yes, the portion is big, uunnecessarily large. I'd rather the portion and cost both be reduced in dimensions. Food is about personal opinion/preference in the finish during the day, though.
