Punjabi Chole Recipe

Preparation: 50 mts

250 gms kabuli channa, absorb water overnight

3 eco-friendly chillis, slit length wise

1 teaspoon grated ginger root

1/2″ cinnamon stick

1 whole black cardamom

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 tomato plants, finely chopped

1 teaspoon red chilli pwd (adjust to fit your spice level)

fresh coriander leaves for garnish

For Masala Pwd: (dry roast on low to medium flame for 4 mts and grind to some fine powder)

1 1/2 tbsps coriander seeds

1 1/2 tsps anardana (dried pomegranate seeds)

2 black cardamoms

1/2 teaspoon pepper corns

3/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

1 Pressure prepare the chickpeas together with 3 glasses of water, large pinch sodium bicarbonate, a tea bag, cinnamon and something large black cardamom (badi elaichi) till soft. The chickpeas ought to be soft and never be overcooked and mushy. Drain water and aside for latter use and discard the tea bag.

Add some mashed channa and blend. Prepare for approximately 18-20 mts or until you acquire a slightly thick gravy.
6 Adjust the salt and switch off heat. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
7 Serve hot like a snack garnished with chopped onions or with bhatura or rotis.
