This isn't the normal small Puti Fish that everyone knows, this is whats called Shor Puti that is 4″ to six″ in dimensions. I learnt this recipe from the mother. She never measured quantities. Here, however, These are merely quantities in my readers.

Cooking. half an hour

  1. 250 gm Puti Fish ( Place-fin swamp barb )
  2. 100 gm Mustard Seeds
  3. 5-6 Eco-friendly Chill
  4. 1 teaspoon Black Jeera
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder

Take good bits of fish. Wash it and pat it dry. Then marinate with turmeric powder and salt.

Shallow fry the fish and it aside.

Create a paste of mustard seeds.

Heat oil in pan adding black jeera and eco-friendly chilly to crackle in oil.

Pour the above mentioned mustard paste. Add salt and turmeric powder. Stir well with water. Lastly add some fish. Cover the lid for five-ten mins.

Serve it hot with grain.
