Dasara festival was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety at Kulasekarapattinam, among the pilgrimage towns in Tuticorin district. A lot of devotees from parts from the Condition thronged the Mutharamman Temple to provide special hopes.

At night time on Friday, ‘Soorasamharam,’ which symbolises victory of excellent over evil, the highlight from the 10-day festival, was performed at Kulasekarapattinam beach. Goddess Mutharamman was drawn in a procession in ‘Simha Vahanam’ for that ‘samharam’ of 4 demons, including Mahishasuran. The festival commenced with flag hoisting on September 24. Special hopes were offered through the festival. On Friday, mahabishekam was performed at 10 a.m. adopted with a special puja. Many devotees required part within the celebration outfitted in colourful costumes as people from the Hindu pantheon in propitiation of the vows, on completing their fast.

Alongside Mysore, Kulasekarapattinam assumes importance for Dasara celebration inside a grand manner. Sufficient police pressure was deployed near the temple. Special bus services were run by Tamil Nadu Condition Transport Corporation.
