Any Irish lad or lassie will explain, “It isn’t St. Patrick’s Day with no pint.” The emerald isle’s numerous classic beers beg to become offered alongside ale infused St. Patty’s Day dinner and dessert recipes. This March 17th harness the luck from the Irish with this favorite savory and sweet pairings:
Certainly one of Irelands earliest made beers, Smithwick’s Red Ale includes a caramel maltiness, bready flavor and comparatively thin mouthfeel. The sunshine taste and occasional alcohol content makes Smithwick’s an even and simple-to-sip beer that pairs well with almost any meal. For St. Patrick’s day we like the thought of serving a pint alongside creamy potato soup spiked with—you suspected it—red ale.
Perhaps Ireland’s most well-known beer, Guinness Draught is definitely an intensely dark stout having a wealthy malt flavor featuring both coffee and chocolate undertones. We recommend balancing the luxuriously wealthy brew having a batch of soft black and tan brownies. Furthermore these brownies feature the comparatively lighter Guinness Stout within their recipe, they also mimic the layered colors and richness present in a glass of Guinness.
