Once the Le Meridien team explained these were intending to update the best buffet devote town – Latest Recipe – I had been sceptical and to some extent, wishing they didn’t undergo with this plan. Since it meant I wouldn’t have the ability to dine there for any couple of several weeks (three to become exact) until they reopen. On that day soon came, and that i compensated Latest Recipe a trip to see her facelift.
Change at Latest Recipe
Thankfully, it wasn’t a significant facelift. Some changes every now and then, cleverly utilising the spaces, adding existence and colour towards the atmosphere and expanding the buffet spread. The atmosphere is energetic because the open kitchens give Latest Recipe a trendy “hawker” feel, without the chaos obviously.
My plate of tandoori, lamb masala and saffron ghee grain
In keeping with their calling, Latest Recipe still features an array of Indian, Chinese, Malay, Japanese and Western cuisine – with increased variety put into multiplication. The Indian section remains a highlight where Southern and northern Indian treats are offered and rotated every day. Pity the Kakadai Crab Curry wasn’t available after i went, however the lamb masala didn’t dissatisfy. It's my job to choose two models in the Indian section because there’s so much to test!
Pasta station, and Chef Antoine making us a plate.
Carbonara with bacon, pork and mushroom
Another feature I really like at Latest Recipe may be the pasta station where you're able to pick your chosen pasta together with sauces and condiments. My all-time favourite? The fettuccine carbonara with bacon and mushroom. Should you catch Chef Antoine in the pasta station, question to have an aglio olio. He constitutes a mean one. Latest Recipe now sports quite a number of grill products, like lamb leg, baby lamb, roast chicken, prime rib and duck.

Roasted baby lamb
The Malay section showcases an array of ulam, masak lemak, sambals and rendang from Kedah, Terengganu and Kelantan. However I personally love the teppanyaki in the Japanese station, in which the chefs prepare up an incredible prawn, chicken and fish hot plate around the place. The prawn teppanyaki may be worth opting for seconds and thirds, believe me.

Penang style Asam laksa
When (or maybe) you reach dessert following the mind-boggling spread, try the softserve yogurt frozen treats that is now an element in the dessert section. Alternatively, choose the waffles with butter and syrup – that’s my regular pick after each meal at Latest Recipe.

Kuih muih. Love how they are displayed!
Overall, your meals are still good and that i such as the new inclusions in multiplication. As the place continues to be given a facelift, I love the truth that several things stay the same therefore it doesn’t seem like I’m dining within an entirely new venue. Also it still remains certainly one of the best buffet spots around!
