Traditional salt water taffy recipe easy

1 cup sugar
1/two tablespoons corn starch
2/3 cup corn syrup
1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon salt
flavoring

Combine sugar and corn starch, put in a saucepan, and add corn syrup, butter, and water.

Stir until boiling point is arrived at, and boil until mixture reaches 256°F or until a little portion forms a ball when tested in cold water.

Add salt, pour onto a greased slab and permit to awesome slightly before the mixture can be treated. Pull until light colored.

Divide into separate portions, and color and flavor each portion as preferred, even though it is being pulled.

Lemon, orange, peppermint, lime, strawberry, or pineapple flavors can be utilized, and pink, eco-friendly, yellow or orange color pastes. (Avoid using an excessive amount of color - the candies are often quite pale and pastel in tint).

To create red striped kisses, get one part of chocolate colorful red and let warm close to the oven. Lay the big bit of pulled taffy around the marble slab. Around the upper side, lay 2 or 3 parallel strips of red taffy turn the piece over and lay 2 or 3 read strips with that side.

Take out until 1 1/2 " wide and threeOr4 inch thick. Reduce pieces having a scissors and wrap in wax paper. Twist ends of paper to close.
