Soul food collard greens recipe with salt pork civil war

Love this recipe. I've tried it with collards with kale and both were great. I personally use 1/2 water and 1/2 chicken broth, just a little garlic clove powder, a diced potato and diced small onion along with a diced pork steak

Up here (north), smoked pork hocks or smoked poultry are simply about as costly as steak. It always arrives great, and that i LOVE the benefit of doing it within the crockpot. Thanks!!

It was scrumptious. I added 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes for an additional zing.

We've got our vegetables though our Bountiful Baskets co-op. Getting never cooked collard vegetables before, I went right to my safe place: my slow cooker. We loved this recipe! The only real factor Used to do different was add an additional pork hock. Simple to make and also the flavor was wonderful. My spouse loved the vinegar and that i selected the Siracha. As noted in other comments, the meat in the hock did not go far. I might then add diced pork later on. Also, I finished up with many different extra broth. You best believe I ladled it, froze it, and tried on the extender inside a chili verde recipe right after. I am a broth enthusiast, and so i loved re purposing the taste of the dish (dubbed "eco-friendly pork broth") for an additional use.
