    • 150g carrot, finely chopped
    • 4 sticks celery, peeled (having a peeler) and finely chopped
    • 300g best-quality minced beef, not very lean (a mixture of beef, veal and/or pork doubles)
    • Salt and freshly ground pepper
    • 150ml dairy
    • Nutmeg (whole, for grating)
    • 150ml dry white-colored wine
    • 375g tinned tomato plants, with juice
    • 500g dried tagliatelle

    Method

    1. Preheat the oven to the cheapest setting (110C/ 225F/Gas Mark ). Place the oil and butter inside a large casserole having a lid and add some onion, garlic clove and star anise.
    2. Prepare on the low heat for half an hour. Add some chopped carrots and continue cooking for an additional twenty minutes, adding the celery and prepare for any further short while. Tip within the mince and press lower onto it lightly, so it's built-into the vegetables, and prepare.
