Woodburn plantation oyster roast recipe

Ingredients

CAROLINA COCKTAIL SAUCE:
  • 2 cups ketchup
  • 2 to three tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • Hot sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 bushel Bulls Bay cluster oysters, washed of dirt
  • Saltines, for serving

Directions

For that cocktail sauce. Mix together the ketchup, Worcestershire, horseradish. fresh lemon juice and vinegar. Add hot sauce, pepper and salt to taste.

For that oysters: Develop a hot fire using hardwoods within the fire box of the oyster oven. After you have a great bed of coals, put the oven within the fire box. Heat for five minutes. Test for warmth by sprinkling water at first glance. Whether it sizzles immediately, you are prepared to prepare.
