Acorn squash and butternut squash soup recipe

Acorn squash and butternut squash soup recipe

My neighbor Jack offered me a beautiful acorn squash along with a butternut squash from his garden. We'd visitors for supper and so i made both plus they were a large hit. My mother accustomed to get this to baked squash for all of us after i was becoming an adult. I really like the spice in the nutmeg and cinnamon, the salty in the butter, and also the sweet in the brown sugar. It’s a decadent method of making squash but oh so worthwhile. It can make an excellent side dish for beef, chicken, pork or sea food.

Note: When writing the recipe, I didn’t put amounts lower for brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg since i just sprinkled them onto taste. Add just as much or less than you would like. Increase the butter if you would like so that it is extra wealthy.

  • 1 butternut squash
  • 1 acorn squash
  • 2-3 tablespoons of butter
  • Sprinkle of brown sugar
  • Sprinkle of cinnamon
  • Sprinkle of nutmeg

Preheat the oven to 350 levels. Slice each squash lengthwise in two. Scrape the seeds and rinse. Spread just a little butter throughout each 1 / 2 of the squash. Sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Inside a deep baking dish, add enough water to pay for the foot of the dish. Put the squash facing in the dish. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30-40 minutes or until fork tender. Remove the aluminum foil and switch the oven to broil so that you can brown the tops of every squash watch carefully therefore it doesn’t burn. You are able to slice into chunks or scoop the flesh and eat it like mashed taters whatever suits your fancy. Enjoy.
