Soft and traditional Bengali sweet dish prepared Sandesh prepared with fresh chena can bring along any flavor. Infact it is also prepared with Saffron and cardamom only.

Ingredients for Sandesh Mishti

  • Full cream milk - 1 liter
  • Lemon - 2
  • Powdered sugar - 1/3 cup (50 grams)
  • Cardamom - 5
  • Saffron - 20 to 25 threads
  • Pistachios - ten to twelve

Steps to make Bengali Sandesh

Take milk inside a vessel with heavy base and let it boil. When milk starts boiling, remove it flame and permit it awesome a little. Mix water in fresh lemon juice so when milk cools a little, add fresh lemon juice in it slowly and gradually and stirring. When milk coagulates, milk and chena separates, then stop adding fresh lemon juice in it.

Strain the chena with cloth and pour cold water regarding this to ensure that there's no flavor of lemon in chena. Lift the material all sides and press it lightly to ensure that excess water drains out. Chena to make sandesh has become ready. Remove it inside a plate and mash the chena for five to six minutes until smooth. Crush cardamom to create powder. Thinly chop pistachios.

Now mix saffron and powdered sugar in chena and blend for two to three. Have a non-stick pan and put it on flame. Now place chena in it, stir constantly and roast it on low flame for three or four minutes.

Switch off the flame and remove chena inside a plate. Permit the chena to awesome after which mix cardamom powder in it. Take small lump in the mixture, roll after which flatten lightly. Put it on the plate. Likewise, make small protuberances in the mixture making oblong shape peda and put on them plate. Garnish with chopped pistachios and relish eating these tasty sandesh.

  • This sandesh is ready with saffron flavor but you should use cashews, almonds according to your taste.
