Buddies, I made a tasty dip for that Super Bowl!
Ok, let’s be genuine. I made a tasty dip that you could alllow for the SuperBowl. I really managed to get in my book club. which perhaps has more passionate cheering, booing, and dip-eating than any football party I understand. )
That’s right. Flannery O’Connor was the main attraction earlier this weekend at book club, and let’s just state that our thumb votes for any Good Man Is Difficult To Find demonstrated quite the plethora of fangirl-ship. Some loved it. Some hated it. Some think it is subtly brilliant. Some thought it didn’t endure the hype. But in keeping with form within our club, everybody had a viewpoint and wasn’t afraid to voice it. Which is among the reasons I so adore our little club. The greater divisive the writer, the greater stellar the discussion!
Obviously, our Essential Opinions total things literary will always be even more lively when fueled with a spread of excellent food and wine. Which month, I made the decision propose by adding certainly one of my all-time favorite dip recipes &- a lightened-up &"skinny&" form of classic French Onion Dip.
It’s not a secret which i’ve been obsessive about making caramelized onions recently, around the stovetop. within the slow oven. as well as in French onion soup. So since i have were built with a couple of leftover, I made the decision to re-photograph this oldie but goodie recipe and share it along with you once again. No cream cheese, sour cream, or heavy cream needed. The key to creating it lighter may be the wonderful, creamy, magical goodness that's Greek yogurt.
Well, obviously, might some caramelized onions. Gotta have individuals onions.
Just caramelize a brand new batch (or this is an excellent use for leftover caramelized onions), stir them along with your Greek yogurt along with a couple of seasonings&...
&...after which voila, your lighter dip is able to go!
I capped mine having a couple of extra caramelized onions, because apparently I'm able to’t get enough caramelized onions within my existence.
After which offered it with chips. Ruffled poker chips are standard, however i went old-school and introduced along some Sun Chips to reserve club. These were a match produced in dip paradise.
The best of this? I’m confident that nobody besides Roz and that i understood this version was &"skinny&". It had been super thick, creamy, flavorful, and hopelessly irresistible. I might not have been the greatest fan of Flannery, however i’ll cheer with this dip whenever.
