Irish Potato bread. also referred to as fadge. slims. potato cake or potato farls. is a kind of unleavened bread by which potato replaces a significant area of the regular wheat flour. It is almost always cooked by baking it on the hot griddle or pan. It may be offered by having an Irish breakfast as well as in Northern Ireland. where it's in modern language referred to as 'Tatie Bread', it may form area of the Ulster fry. This bread began in the late nineteenth century as a way of using mashed potato leftovers, the potato as being a staple area of the Irish diet.
