They were AMAZING. I ground the grains making flour so that they were really wheat grains. Everyone is deeply in love with them.

WoW..yes, it's kind of labor intensive, what a result. Not used at all buttermilk before but am certain that it is important.Cooking food is a little chemistry so opt for the recipe. Make sure to leave the waffle within the iron much more time than you believe for correct crispiness. The cornmeal adds a little bit of crunchy, wholegrain mouth feel towards the experience. Might try a little bit of vanilla flavoring, as Carsan recommended above. For any real cardiac effect, serve eggnog w/Myers rum !

This seems like an excellent recipe. The only real factor I'd change would be to add some vanilla flavoring. It might provide a vanilla pumpkin spice taste. To finish it off maybe put a little bit of whip cream onto it.

I made these today and located the batter to be really thin. The resulting waffles while pretty tasty were quite soft and never using the crispiness around the outdoors which i normally like. I even cooked subsequent batches for extended occasions plus they remained as not crispy. Regardless of I froze the extras and can toast them in toaster, that we think can make them crispy for future breakfasts.

Since I LOVE pumpkin cake, I'd likely increase the spices the next time to attract out that flavor more.
