Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 ribs celery, chopped
- 1 eco-friendly bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 pound smoked sausage, reduce 1/4-inch slices
- 1 tablespoon Neelys Dry Rub
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
- 2 (12-ounce) cans red beans, drained and rinsed
- 3 cups chicken stock
- 2 bay leaves
- Grain:
- 4 cups chicken stock
- 2 cups lengthy-grain grain
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Pinch salt
Directions
Inside a large skillet heat the vegetable oil over medium-high temperature. Saute the onion, celery, eco-friendly bell pepper, and garlic clove until tender. Add some smoked sausage, Neelys Dry Rub, thyme, pepper and salt. Saute for around a few minutes adding the red beans, chicken stock and bay leaves. Let simmer uncovered on low for 1 1/2 hrs. Stirring from time to time and adding water, if required.
As the beans are cooking add all of the ingredients for that grain to some small saucepan over medium heat. Cover and let prepare for fifteen minutes. When the grain is cooked, let are a symbol of a few minutes. Serve using the red beans .
