
2 eco-friendly chillies
salt to taste
4 cloves garlic clove
400 gms fish
2 tblsp refined flour
1 " ginger root
2 tblsp oil
1 egg beaten
1 medium onion
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon garam masala powder
3 -4 taters
oil for frying
1/2 cup white-colored bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
a couple of sprigs coriander leaves
Steps to make fish cake :
- Boil, remove and mash the taters.
- Wash the fish completely.
- Remove your skin and reduce fine pieces.
- Remove and finely cut the onion.
- Wash, remove and grate the ginger root.
- Remove and crush the garlic clove.
- Wash, remove the stem, de-seed and cut the eco-friendly chillies finely.
- Clean, wash and finely cut the coriander leaves.
- Put taters and fish inside a mixer and blend directly into coarse paste.
- Warm up oil over medium warm up and fry the onions until soft.
- Add crushed garlic clove, grated ginger root, cut eco-friendly chillies, stir and stir fry for just one minute.
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, stir stir fry for just one minute.
- Add the coriander leaves and salt, stir, mix well, remove from heat.
- Place the fish and potato mixture inside a big size mixing bowl, add onions and fried spices and blend well.
- Cover and chill the mix not less than 1 hour.
- Divide the mix in 12 equal sized portions and shape them into flat round cakes about 1/2 inch thick.
- Dust the cakes in flour, then dip in beaten egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
- Warm up oil and fry the fish cakes until golden brown.
