I made these a couple of days ago plus they were great. I did not perform the whole lard factor but did fry while using shortening. They sampled not far from McDonalds fried potatoes. Its certainly worthwhile though for those who have a shoestring cutter. You pay about 3 dollars for any large fry but you may make an enormous batch of those for the family very quickly. A real great recipes.
They are great I've done them many occasions. When it comes to comment below from Karenf16, you'll want over fried the fries the very first time or something like that since this is an iron clad method that's been employed for years. Repeat the process and make certain you simply fry them the occasions indexed by the recipe, You'll be pleased.
This recipe is horrible. I don't know why it's 5 stars. nothing beats McDonald's. I adopted the recipe to some T and my fries switched very brown, almost burnt throughout the second fry. once they arrived on the scene these were crispy and one minute later these were limp. what a total waste of tme
