American Chopsuey, a scrumptious savory dish prepared with crispy noodles and saucy stir-fried vegetables, is definitely an Indian adaptation of popular American dish. In India, it's vegetarian and eager with crispy noodles and vegetables whereas in the usa it's non-vegetarian and eager with pasta and beef. This step-by-step photo recipe of yankee Choupsuey is perfect for preparing the Indian vegetarian version by which crispy noodles (steamed noodles are fried until crispy) are capped with stir-fried vegetables cooked in mild sweet and sour thick sauce.

Serves: 4 servings
1 pack (150 gm pack) Plain Hakka Noodles
1/2 cup French Beans, finely chopped
1/2 cup Carrot, reduce thin strips
2 teaspoons finely chopped Ginger root
5-6 cloves of Garlic clove, finely chopped
1-2 Eco-friendly Chillies, slit vertically
2 medium Onions, finely sliced
1 medium Capsicum, sliced
1/2 cup Cabbage, sliced
1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon Chilli Sauce (Red or Eco-friendly)
2 teaspoons Sugar
2 teaspoons Vinegar
3 tablespoons Tomato Ketchup
1/4 teaspoon Pepper Powder
3 tablespoons + two tablespoons Cornflour (corn starch)
1/2 cup + 1 cup Water
Prepare steamed noodles.. Don't boil noodles in excess of 3-minutes to avoid it from turning saturated.
Dissolve 3 tablespoons cornflour in 1/2 cup water and aside.
Boil carrot and French beans having a pinch of salt in water over medium flame for several minutes. Drain water and transfer these to a plate. Have them aside.
Heat two tablespoons oil in another pan over high flame. Add chopped ginger root and chopped garlic clove and saut for 25 seconds. Add onion and capsicum, saut for several-4 minutes.
Add steamed vegetables, cabbage and saut for several-4 minutes. Add soy sauce, chilli sauce, sugar, vinegar, tomato ketchup, pepper powder and salt.
Mix well and prepare for any minute.
Add 2-cups water and produce it to boil. If this begins to boil, reduce flame to low and prepare for several minutes.
Add dissolved cornflour and blend well.
Stir and prepare over medium flame until sauce turns thick, more dark colored and jackets the vegetables for approximately. 2-3 minutes.
Switch off the flame. Place crispy fried noodles on the serving plate and pour prepared vegetable sauce mixture regarding this. Veg American Chopsuey is able to serve.
Tips and Variations:- Within this recipe, we used Ching’s noodles, chilli sauce and soy sauce. However, you should use every other brand obtainable in your nearest supermarket.
- Time needed to boil noodles can vary based on type and make of noodles. Always stick to the instruction given on the rear of those.
- To create crispy noodles, boil them until they're almost cooked (80% cooked) although not soft.
- Should you fry noodles on really low flame they will absorb more oil and when you fry them on high flame they will turn brown immediately although not turn crispy.
- Adjust the amount of chilli sauce and tomato ketchup based on your taste.
- Always serve it hot. Pour sauce over crispy noodles right before serving. Where you can appreciate it while noodles continues to be crispy.
