To roast grind
  • Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Red chillies 4-5 nos
  • Hing 1/4 teaspoon
  • Tamarind small berry size
  • Urad dal 1/2 tablespoons of (optional)
  • Salt water - when needed
  • Inside a kadai ,heat 2 teaspoon of oil.Roast the urad dal,red chillies,hing.(U may also roast coconut together with these components)
  • Grind them coarsely adding salt and tamarind.Add grated coconut and grind it thick without adding water.Coconut is going to be half ground.Now add hardly any water making a thick paste.Remove inside a serving bowl.

  • Enjoy mixing with plain grain adding sesame oil/gingely oil and have being an accompaniment for curd grain !
  • To obtain this nice color,use crushed red chilli.Otherwise u might not obtain the same color.U will find the chilli within the picture background.

Adding urad dal is optional.If u add urad dal, u may use this thogayal as side dish for idli,dosa too.Mostly we get this to chutney for travel.It stays good for you to 2 days without refrigeration if u roast coconut well.
