Cheru Payaru or Whole Eco-friendly Gram is also referred to as Mung Bean/Moong Bean/Eco-friendly Soy/Golden Gram etc.
Cheru Payaru can be used as making thick gravies, Sambar, Thoran etc. It's very nutritious and in proteins. This is actually the recipe to make a thick curry using Cheru Payaru. This is a great side dish for Grain or Puttu .
Whole Eco-friendly Gram Curry
- Whole Eco-friendly Moong (Cheru Payaru) 1/2 cup (You are able to soak the eco-friendly gram overnight)
- Finely sliced Onions 1 medium
- Slit Eco-friendly Chillies 2 lengthy
- Mashed Garlic clove Cloves four to five
- Curry Leaves A sprig
- Oil 2 tablespoons of
- Mustard seeds 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric Powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Red Chilly Powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander Powder 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin Powder 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Pressure Prepare the Drenched Whole Eco-friendly Beans together with salt as much as 2 whistles on medium flame. If you haven't drenched the entire Eco-friendly Gram overnight, then you might want to pressure prepare it for additional time that it is cooked well and it has a thick consistency. Don't over prepare or it might be a paste.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of oil inside a wok. Splutter mustard seeds.
- Add some chopped onions, garlic clove, eco-friendly chillies and curry leaves and saute.
- Once the onions become golden brown, stir in 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 1/4 teaspoon cumin powder, 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder and 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder. Saute for just two minutes.
- Next, add some cooked eco-friendly moong towards the above masala and blend well.
- Increase the water and salt if needed and produce it to some boil stirring from time to time. You might garnish with chopped cilantro leaves.
- Serve with Grain or Puttu.
