
Sambhar is an essential part from the South Indian homes. No meal is finished without sambhar. This is a simple recipe for South Indian sambhar.
2 Cup Tuvar Dal
1/2 teaspoon Haldi (Turmeric)
3 Red Chilles
1 teaspoon Sambhar powder
1 pinch Hing
2 teaspoon Mustard
1/4 teaspoon Tamarind paste
2 tblsp Vgetables washed chopped ( Drumstick,Eco-friendly Pepper, Eggplant, Okra)
Eco-friendly Chilles to taste
Couple of Curry Leaves
Salt to taste
Oil
Steps to make sambhar:
- Prepare tuvar daal with haldi and water and aside.
- Prepare the vegetables in water enough to melt them and add haldi and salt.
- When vegetables are cooked add tamarind paste.
- Heat some oil inside a pan, splutter mustard, add red chillies, eco-friendly chillies, curry leaves, hing, and sambhar powder and stiring for couple of minutes.
- Add this towards the boiling vegetables.
- Add some tuvar daal and allow it to prepare for any couple of more minutes.
- Sambhar is able to be offered with dosa, idli or vada.
