
Karela or Bitter Gourd is precisely as suggested by its name bitter. Despite it’s bitterness so when made well, it's a very enjoyable dish. Karela can also be noted for it’s health advantages great for liver, skin, cleanses bloodstream among others. Enjoy our version having a dash of tartness along with a hint of sweet, sufficient to help you forget you're eating and enjoying Karela or Bitter Gourd!

Prepare Time: 30 min
Serves: 6 8
Bitter gourd / Karela 2lbs (approximately 1kg)
Onions 4 small, sliced
Oil 2 tablespoons of
Fennel Seeds 1 teaspoon
Turmeric Powder 1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Fennel Seed Powder 1 tablespoons of
Lime Juice 2 tablespoons of
Sugar 1 tablespoons of in order to taste
1. Prep the Karela by washing, taking out the seeds and performing.
2. Inside a large wok, heat the Oil on medium heat.
3. Add some Fennel Seeds and prepare for thirty seconds after which include Turmeric Powder and blend.
4. Include the Onions and Salt and blend. Permit the Onions to brown and obtain a caramelized about 10-12 minutes. Stir frequently.
5. Include the Bitter Gourd and a bit more Salt, only for the Bitter Gourd. Mix.
6. Cover and prepare for 10-fifteen minutes, stirring among.
7. When the Karela has cooked, add Fennel Seed Powder, Lime or lemon Juice and Sugar. Mix well.
8. Prepare for an additional a few minutes until all of the flavors are included well. Adjust seasoning as needed.
9. Serve hot with Chapatis, Rotis, Grain like a side dish.
Tips:
1. Cut the Karela smaller sized if you like.
2. To lessen bitterness within the Karela:
salt the cut Karela generously
mix well and hang aside for 15 min
drain or squeeze the liquid.

No. You simply take away the seeds and never the peel.
you can pressure prepare karela with some tamarind &... and vola. all of the bitterness is finished &.... not really a bit left &....
squeeze the water making a sabzi or deep fry and stuff it with carmelized onions (add chilli powder to help make the stuffing mixture spicy)&.... it will likely be tasty &...

I've got a similar receipe however in the finish rather of adding lemon juce then add tamaring puree and provide is really a boil. Enjoy!

You can include eco-friendly chilies combined with the onions or red chili powder using the other spices if you would like heat. We cut the onions by hands&...we’re good like this

It's known as a &"eco-friendly pan&"&...supposedly much better and also the atmosphere than regular non-stick.
