- Onion - 1 medium or 1 cup, roughly chopped
- Garlic clove cloves - 2, roughly chopped
- Ginger root - ½ inch piece, chopped
- Water - 1 cup
- Mushrooms - 8 oz or 2 cups sliced
- Fresh lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
- Oil - two tablespoons
- Bay leaf - 1
- Cloves -3
- Eco-friendly cardamom - 2
- Eco-friendly chilies - 2, chopped finely
- Ginger root paste - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic clove paste - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala - ½ teaspoon
- Yogurt (curd) - ¾ cup
- Cilantro - couple of sprigs, chopped finely
- To blanch mushrooms, heat water together with fresh lemon juice and salt. Allow it to arrived at a boil, adding sliced mushrooms, turn off the stove, cover the pan and allow them to set for 3-4 minutes. Drain them and run under cold water to prevent cooking process.
- Within the same pan, take onion paste ingredients (onion, ginger root, garlic clove and water) and simmer it for 10-fifteen minutes or up until the onions get softened. Allow it to awesome a little and ground right into a smooth paste.
