This cookie is my other favorite Christmas cookie, together with walnut snowballs. I am certain my mother made all sorts of Christmas cookies through the years, but none of them were as memorable because these two. Spritz, she known as them, and little did I understand this was way over a dog name she'd for that cookie.
Flash forward two decades, and the actual, searching to create these cookies again. Spritz Cookies Recipe
- Prep time: 25 minutes
- Prepare time: ten minutes

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour or cake flour
- 1/2 cup white-colored granulated sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1 egg
- 1/2 pound unsalted butter, at 70 degrees and reduce small cubes
- Colored sugar
- Sprinkles
- Bits of nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, etc)
- Frosting
- Maraschino cherries
- Powdered sugar
Method
1 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Whisk together the flour. sugar and salt inside a large bowl, then sprinkle with vanilla flavoring. Crack the egg into the middle of the bowl after which us dot the flour mixture using the bits of butter. Mix everything along with your clean hands until you receive a dough. My personal favorite toppings are colored sugar bobs of walnut stuck in the heart of a star pattern.
4 Allow the cookies awesome around the sheet for five minutes, then carefully move these to a rack. Allow them to awesome completely before putting the cookies away. They freeze well.

My daughter and I wish to make cookies for investing in gift boxes for that neighbors and we'll make cookies yesterday and bring them around. Is that this a great recipe for your? I have not been excellent at baking however these look great and straightforward. I'd planned on making fundamental sugar cookies and sprinkles every time they emerge from oven. I freeze my cookie sheets before I press the dough. I've found it helps the dough adhere plus they form better.
