
I recall eating this jelly in Malaysia. There is this lady near my mother house selling it along with her ice-kacang (shave ice) She'll mix this soft golden jelly with a few syrup and calamansi juice. An ideal thirst-quenching drink that's both healthy and scrumptious especially getting it within our hot tropical mid-day.
So what exactly is Aiyu Jelly? Aiyu jelly is really a jelly produced from the gel from the seeds of a number of fig, and it is generally present in Taiwan and Singapore. Aiyu&" jelly means fig jelly. To create it, the aiyu seeds are first put into a material bag after which submerged into cold water. After massaging the bag of seeds, the aiyu seeds will to produce gel-like substance, that will eventually become jelly through refrigeration. The feel is comparable to agar agar and konyanku, and constitutes a light and refreshing dessert. Read much more about it here .
You will get canned Aiyu jelly in the Asian supermarket here in the united states. I combine it with can longan and added some fresh lemon juice into it since i have can’t find any calamansi here. This dessert is ideal for the new summer time and I will get this to again for the next BBQ meet up.
Not a recipe but here's my form of this dessert.
1 can of Aiyu Jelly reduce cubes
1 can of logan
Juice of two lemons
Some ice
Some lemon slices for garnish
Mix everything together and serve cold.
