Puttu Kadala Curry
Puttu Kadala curry is God’s own country’s treasured breakfast dish. Kadala is really a coconut based kala chana (black chickpeas) curry that's wealthy in protein and lip smacking good when eaten with Puttu. The very first time I sampled a geniune style chickpea curry what food was in a house remain in Wayanad and that i was amazed. Shallots also known as sambar onions and fresh coconut are crucial ingredients. I wouldn’t suggest skipping coconut milk since it elevates the taste from the curry by a lot and offers the required gravy towards the dish. Kerala style black chickpea curry

Primary Ingredients:
Ingredients
- Kala Channa - 1 cup, absorb 2 1/2 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt for 8 hrs (Black chickpeas)
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Tomato - 1, finely chopped
- Eco-friendly chilies - 2, slit length wise
- Ginger root garlic clove paste - 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 3/4 tablespoons of
- Garam Masala powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coconut milk - 1 cup
- Curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Oil - 1 tablespoons of
- Salt to taste
- Roast by 50 percent tsps oil and grind to some paste
- Shallots - 4, sliced
- Coconut - 3 tbsps
- Clove - 2
- Cinnamon - 1" stick
- Pepper corns - 6
- Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Method
- Pressure prepare black chick peas in 3 glasses of water and salt up to 4 whisltes. Once cooked, keep aside.
- As the chick peas are pressure cooking prepare the masala by roasting and grinding the components known as for that masala (see above).
- Heat oil inside a heavy bottomed vessel, add chopped onions and saute for 4 mts. Add ginger root garlic clove paste and eco-friendly chilies and saute for several mts.
- Add some turmeric powder, chili powder and coriander powder and blend. Add chopped tomato plants and saute for 4 mts.
- Add some cooked chickpeas combined with the remaining water and adjust salt. Simmer for 4 mts. Add some ground paste and garam masala powder and prepare for 8-10 mts.
- Add some coconut milk and curry leaves and simmer for several-4 mts and switch off heat.
Tips
- While roasting the masala, roast the cloves, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds and pepper corns, adopted through the sliced shallots. Roast for several mts. Add some grated coconut and roast for 4 mts and switch off heat. Awesome and grind to some paste adding hardly any water.
