These fast treats came into being one morning after i opened up the freezer and alas, no lunch box fillers. Virtually no time to bake, what could I actually do but invent a nut free, healthy no bake muesli bars? Rapidly!
What makes them so healthy?
Well the oatmeal really are a adding nourishment to, high fibre, nerve supporting food. The seeds and coconut provide good fats, protein and (from the slow release kind). The cinnamon further stabilizes bloodstream sugars. If you are using brown grain syrup, they're also fructose friendly. These simple treats will sustain, satisfy and nourish the body those are the perfect healthy snack.
The are extremely a lot better than any supermarket breakfast or muesli bar
Here' go, making my high horse again. However the health claims on these bars simply make me shudder. An alert could be appropriate oftentimes. Many commercial bars have nearly as much sugar like a treat, alarming levels of polyunsaturated fats (discover why you ought to avoid these here) and ‘fruit’ that's more an item of chemistry than nature. My simple invention is whole and adding nourishment to with techniques that any supermarket or perhaps health food brands could not be.
They're too simple to make, so no excuses for processed bars anymore!
Makes 15 squares
The Thing You Need
- 100 gram (1 cup) folded oatmeal
- 60 gram (½ cup) sesame seeds
- 60 gram (½ cup) pepitas
- 60 gram (½ cup) sunflower seeds
- 1 tablespoon of chia seeds or flax seeds, ground is better
- 60 grams (1 cup) desiccated or shredded coconut
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 125 grams of butter
- 170 grams (½ cup) of raw honey or brown grain syrup
OPTIONAL
- Dried fruit or cacao nibs
How To Proceed
- In a tiny pot, combine the butter, sweetener and cinnamon on the low heat, stirring until combined (TMX 2mins, temp 90, speed 3).
- You've got a handful of options here. For any tastier slice, toss the oatmeal, seeds and coconut right into a large pan and toast on the low heat for five-ten minutes, stirring frequently (the coconut will color and also the pepitas will begin to pop).
- Combine the dried ingredients raw.
- Add some dried mix towards the butter / sweetener mix, (plus dried fruit or cacao nibs if using) and blend until combined (TMX 30sec, reverse, speed 3 you may want to scrape the edges). See my lunch box tip below.
- Press right into a small slice tin lined with baking paper (I personally use a wet stainless serving spoon). Place it within the freezer for ten minutes or until set.
- Remove in the tin and reduce squares.
- It is advisable to keep refrigerated or frozen.
