It's surprising the number of Pigs in Blanket "recipes" known as for pre-made dough. Do people actually need a "recipe" to find that out? Anyway, that one was perfect- I had been amazed at just how the dough was to be so simple. I did not roll/cut my dough out or anything- my boy and that i just pulled a great "chunk" off for every little veggie dog, also it labored fine. Nice flaky layers!
It was an excellent dough. It's nice light and that i like adding the cheese. I have used a number of different recipes to make pigs inside a blanket and that i would certainly make use of this one again. I made use of it with one package of lil' smokies and rather of triangles I cut my dough into rectangles to suit how big the smokies. Used to do have dough leftover, and so i just formed the leftover dough right into a biscuit also it was scrumptious. A great recipe if you would like kids to assist in the kitchen area! My 3 and 6 years old didn't have problem helping me with each and every step not to mention they love small pigs inside a blanket!
OK, so a couple of changes I made:
1) No buttermilk and so i used 1 % milk rather,
2) Because of 1) above, skipped the sodium bicarbonate (unnecessary to chop the acidity),
3) Used shortening rather of butter,
4) Skipped the cheese,
5) Added a little bit water to obtain the dough consistency right (and also to make amends for insufficient water in shortening and altitude),
6) Used a moving pin, simply because I finally thought it was!
I halved the recipe, which was enough dough for several-4 full-sized hotdogs. Could it have been how big the dogs, or. but to obtain them as brown when i wanted required a great deal more than 13 minutes. I ought to have folded the dough thinner!
Getting stated everything, great recipe. Certainly akeeper for the following time I recieve a craving!
