
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
3 cups flour, all-purpose
2 teaspoons baking powder
- Cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add some eggs, guava pulp, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Beat until smooth.
- Sift the flour and baking powder together. Work the guava mixture in to the flour to create a stiff dough. (Increase the flour as needed.)
- Put the dough inside a 2 ½ quart heat-proof bowl. Cover with lid or foil.
- Place bowl onto a rack inside a pan. Add water in order that it reaches midway in the bowl.
- Steam for several hrs. Serve with Butter Sauce (recipe below) or perhaps a hard sauce.
two tablespoons butter
¾ cup sugar
1 egg, separated
1-3 tablespoons warm water
- Cream the butter and sugar.
- Add some egg yolk.
- Beat the egg white-colored until stiff although not dry.
- Fold egg white-colored into butter mixture.
- Add warm water, a teaspoon at any given time, to create a smooth sauce.
